Formation of life skills in people with visual impairments contributes to their ability to adapt, overcoming the difficulties of everyday life, restoring functionality abilities, improving the quality of life in order to achieve life goals in in the field of education, employment, personal life, security and independence
The main goal of specialists: formation of life skills in people with visual impairments, using cognitive, visual, non-visual strategies and typhlotechnical means of rehabilitation.
Main tasks:
- to teach how to use residual vision during daily activities;
- to teach use living space modifications that will increase mobility and will contribute to the safety of movement in closed life spaces;
- teach compensatory skills related to personal health and hygiene;
- care of clothes, shoes and a house;
- household management;
- form skills in using adaptive technologies to increase independence and self-reliance;
- form social and communicative skills during household management and organizing leisure time.
